My son has ben bullied at school, a lot of it was physical violence. We have reported it so many times and nothing was bieng done we asked to see the headmistress but was told by the deputy head that the headmistress dont deal with the bullying. Have i missed something? im sure the head is supposed to deal with it !

hi tracy, that headmistress is not a very good one, in all the schools my kids have be to i have never heard of a headteacher refusing to deal with should report her to the education board and go to the local could also find out if yours has been an isolated case or if other parents have had the same problem with the headmistress as you.if she isnt prepared to deal with the situation then she shouldnt be doing the job.good luck with this  one there is alot of parents behind you with this.

Hi Tracy, you've got alot of good advice here from the others.I do totally agree that the police should get involed. For example...say I was walking down the street and you were coming towards me, do I have the right to punch you or swear at you or knock you down, NO. You would call the police on me.Violence is violence no matter what age.And us as parents have to stand up for our kids when the system fails them.Best of luck in this and I hope your son is okay after all this.Bulling can scare for life.Just remember there is help out there.

My son went through the same thing when he was ten years old. I was up at the school nearly every second day pushing and pushing them to do something. It was that bad that at one stage my son said to me that he thought he needed to see a psychologist because everyone hated him. I finally had enough when the school would not do anything that I changed his school. It was the best thing that I did. He is now almost 14 and is a happy and well balanced child with lots of friends.

I agree with Bonnie S. I'd call the school one more time and tell them that if they don't address it IMMEDIATELY that you're calling the police. This stuff can't be taken lightly by them.

Bullying a serious matter although some don't agree. I would keep pushing and pushing until you go to the top of the ladder and get something done..if that does not work go to the newspaper or local news station. I am sure the school does not want negative publicity and I am sure the news would welcome the story about an uncooperative school district. Most importantly keep an eye on your child, this type of thing can have a major affect on a child. Make sure you show support and love to your child. Good luck I hope I was able to help.

Who then deals with it?  Who is he being bullied by?  One person or a group?  Keep on talking to people about it...something has to be done.  How old is your son?
