My son is 6 months old and can't sit up by himself yet. How old was your child when they sat up?

My son can hold himself up for maybe 5 seconds and falls forward. I just worry that he isn't where he should be. He is really good at rolling over all over the place and he tries to scoot or crawl but i am just worried about him sitting up by himself. So i just wanted to know how old your children were when they sat up by themselves?

If he's rolling and trying to scoot and crawl, it's only a matter of time before he figures out how to balance himself to sit.
Our son didn't start to sit by himself till he started crawling shortly after 6 months of age.
Every kid does things in their own way and in their own time.
I would only have been concerned if he was just laying around and making no attempt at any kind of movement. Rolling and trying to scoot/crawl are awesome things! Some kids don't do those until later.

Don't worry! Lots of babies aren't sitting up on their own at exactly 6 months. (I think my DD didn't do that until 7 months.) I even know kids who didn't walk until 18 months, and I promise you by the time they're 2 no one will know the difference :)

Don't compare your child to others as every baby is different. The average age for sitting up unassisted is between 4 and 7 months. Our son was 4.5 months when he started sitting alone. Don’t worry Momma! He'll get there soon enough :)
