I enrolled my 2 yr old in a recreation dept tumbling class that is for 2-3 yr olds. It is amazing the difference between just 2 and almost 4. So she doesn't follow direction as well as the older kids. She doesn't want to do some of the things. Some times I have to carry her when the other kids are running circles with their parents. Just don't be disappointed in the fact that you spent money on the class and your child is having a bad day or can't follow the instructor quite right. The kids have fun and any bit they get from it whether actual instruction or just socialization is worth it. I would go for it.

Like the other moms said check around and see what the age is for the dance schools around you. Some start at 2, but I think most might make you wait until 3. I looked for gymnastic classes for my daughter and I found a place that takes 18 months and up so it just depends on the business.

My daughter's ballet school starts with a creative movement class at 2. Check you area dance schools. I don't think it is ever to early to encourage his interest in movement whether it is dance or sports.!!! Have fun!

Oh if there isn't a program in your area maybe a video with friends might be fun!

We have a "Music and Motion" class in our area for toddlers through pre-school, something like that would probably serve your need. My little one loved it @ the time and went on to do piano lessons from the music she learned (she's 6 now)
