Yes, this worked for me and my husband. I would pump at least two times a day, I used the platex nursers and when it was time to eat heat it up under hot water for a short time, the express some of the breast milk in the bottle on to the nipple, make sure nipple is warm and have your husband feed the baby. Sometimes if you have a shirt with your scent on it your husband can use to put next to the baby. It helps them to smell you. The first couple of times you will have to be out of the room for it to work. If my son smelled me he wanted nothing to do with the bottle. Try this and let me know how it works. Good Luck.

Good Luck! My youngest refused to take a bottle. I tried to go back to work and I left him with a close friend of mine. He would only take 2 bottles and I was gone for 6 hours. I have been told that when you leave the baby with the sitter give her a shirt that you have worn. It smells like you and the baby is more likely to take the bottle.

i tried giving my baby the bottle and the first few days she absolutely refused! she would rather starve herself than take the bottle.

you really have to persevere. do not give in and latch her on if that particular feeding is meant to be a bottle feed. you're not being evil, don't worry.
The first 2 days she would wail and wail, by the 3rd day, she refused but didn't cry when we gave her the bottle, by the 4th day, she was willing to take a little from the bottle the 5th day a little more...etc.

Itz the 2nd week shes been on bottle feeds in the day, and I latch her on for feeds after 7pm and before 9am, and shes fine :)

So once again, you've gotta persevere! And it helps to use a teat that's closer to the feel of a nipple, the tommee tippee ones worked for me.

My baby is breastfed only, but I'm returning to work at the end of the month and will have to move baby over onto bottles. I have been reading a great book by Marina Petropulous. Aparently you should try have someone else give him the bottle as he can smell the breasmilk and won't take anything less from you. Just to start off and get him use to the bottle. Let me know if it works please as I can see I'm going to have the same problem.
