My husband has accepted some work in Alberta (we're in Quebec) for the coming months. He will be there for 3 weeks and here for 1 week until the end of the contract (maybe January).

I am certain there are a lot of moms out there who have to manage young children (1 and 3) on their own while working a full-time job... How do you do it?

Thanks Tasha! We will definitely do the webcam and the playdates. It's true, that it is encouraging to know that other moms are doing it. I don't have many friends who understand my situation.

One day at a time. My husband also travels for work. Lately we have had him home alot so that has been nice but when he is gone we handle things one day at a time and have web cam chats so that he and the kids are in contact. It for me was probably easier since I was a single mom for years prior but you just have to keep your head up and know that you aren't the only one out there... it will always be tough to manage but will become more managable day by day. Check with neighbors and do play dates in the evenings, sometimes this helps you and other parents destress.
