Does anyone have good travel tips to share? My DD has just turned 3. We're going to be flying interstate this week. I have a selection of small books (not read much so fairly new to her), snacks that she isn't allergic to, a safe drink bottle .... and I'd love some ideas on other things to keep her occupied on the plane and in the airport.

She's an active kid but also loves reading and talking.

I have messed up shoulders and neck and I don't want to have to carry to many things or anything bulky or heavy (also bearing in mind luggage restrictions). I have travelled with DD on planes before but I'm finding that I need even more and more entertainment for her now that she's getting older.

Thanks for any help you can offer!

My portable DVD player only seems to keep maybe 2 hours or so of charge and doesn't have replaceable batteries (That'll teach me to check out products better next time!). I wonder if I'll have time to recharge it at the airport inbetween flights.

Thank you. Maybe a new little toy, one of those Little Ponies, would be a good distraction.

We have traveled with my now 3-year old since he was born and have found that the best things to take are a portable DVD player and some favorite DVD's and a box with crayons and either note pads or coloring books. The combination of the two seems to do the trick.

Oh, and I put all of that plus an extra outfit in her little "diaper bag" back pack. That was hers and mine only carry on.

Just got back with my almost 3 year old this past weekend...her first plane trip. It was about 2.5 hour flight. I took 4 little board books for the plane, bigger books for her nighttime book reading, an empty sippy cup (most airlines won't let you take fluids on the plane, the flight attendant can get you juice/water/etc once you are on), a new small baby doll, some new princess dolls that are small, and snacks. I also wanted to take her little travel magnadoodle, but couldn't find it. She really only read her books. We also had a portable DVD player and some movies...this was her favorite.
