a lady that used to work at my office was pregnant, her clothes were getting a little tight but not tight enough to wear maternity clothes. (i think if she would of got maternity clothes then it would of looked baggy and sloppy) but anyway my boss has her husband (who is also working her at the time) come into his office and my boss started to complain about how tight her clothes were. so the husband blows up about it. and my boss fired him and then fired her. he said he fired her bc it wouldnt have been right for her to work her and he just fired her husband. the messed up part is he never talked to her about any of the things that he was saying to her husband. and he tryed to telling the rest of us that you shouldnt be able to see her pregnant stomach bc people would get offended by it. in real i think he was offended by it. bc he is like a jerk bc he says bad things about heavier people. like always... when ever he is talking about someone he always says things like oh well looks like they dont have to eat for a while or something of that sort. and to tell you the truth i want to knock his fron teeth out. i am offended by that bc i think that it is very very rude to say about anyone. so i need someone thoughts please help

Time for you to start looking for a new job. It is too stressful to be around jerks- they are toxic and you'll just end up bringing the stress home to your family. Good luck.

It sounds like your boss has a problem with pregnant workers. He should have asked her if she needed any help getting maternity clothes. He needs a reality check! Send him to a Maternity clinic for a month and lock him in! Let the mothers-to-be give him a piece of their mind about his Rotten Attitude! Maybe something in his so-called brain will click about his bad behavior and will change.

there has got to be something illegal about this. Do you know any lawyers? to tell you the truth, I wouldn't be surprised if there's some lawsuit coming soon.

they did and sued him and got like $15,000..... i guess what irritates me is that my boss is a attorney. he is such a jerk!!!!!!!! he thinks that he did nothing wrong when he made these comments but i think he was way out of line whether he said it to the husband or the wife. and plus what husband wouldnt blow up about something like that.... i mean his wife is pregnant with his child!!!! i seriously think my boss is a moron!!!!!

I agree with Brandy. From the information you gave there does not appear to be legal grounds to terminate the pregnant woman or sufficient grounds to terminate the husband either unless he has a history of reprimands and has been previously warned about his temper with other employees.

I think you should encourage both former employees to notify their HR department or boss's supervisor (depending on the size of your company) and detail in a written letter of what took place on their last day of work. They should also contact what ever government agency that monitors the labor force in their state and have a meeting with someone in that department and discuss the situation to find out what labor law they have violated. I think this situation would fall under discrimination of a woman for being pregnant in the workplace which is clearly illegal. If this couple decides to allow an agency to investigate the situation you could help by providing them with a letter that details what you observed (and don't worry these agency will not share the information you provide to them unless this becomes a legal matter).

I hope they find a resolution to this problem and it's truly a wonderful thing that you are willing to help since often so many turn a blind eye to justice to save their own hide. Good Luck!!!

Wow! It sounds like that woman could file a serious complaint against your boss or the company. That is completely discriminatory and she has rights as well as the husband. If I were you ( I tend to be very outspoken) I would call the HR department and voice a complaint. Good luck.
