some children need a little push meaning let them interact with their agemates, when he/she realizes that, he/she is the only one in diapers, they feel the need to use the potty. The reward thing work wonders too, as children like adults love to be complimented

first of all do u think your child is ready, ladies are quicker than boys. So dont push them but train them have time to go to the loo.

we use stickers as a reward and we have a potty chart which has each day of the week (for one week) and space for stickers. When she gets to 5 stickers she gets a treat. We are still struggling with the pooping on the potty but she knows that when she finally does poop on the potty she gets a Dora balloon and a lolly pop :) Lots of praise, high 5's and hugs when she pees on the potty. Oh, we bought a folding potty seat for when we are away from our house and this helps when using public toilets.

What I truely found was the child decides when they are ready. Pick up a couple potty books. My daughter really liked Susan Katz's A potty for me! This is more about making the child want to do this. Make the child excited about big kid underwear, no more soggy butt etc. My girl wasn't able to go to pre-school until she was potty trained so that was something else we used to entice her. Lots of patience, praise, etc. I also let her sit in soggy pants longer then I normally would before hand. Not for hours but I stopped changing her right away after she went in diapers.
