Mine is 4 and he started this the other day too. Fortunately for me he seems to take all my explanations calmly and isn´t worried about dying himself. Hope you find some way to calm him down, it´s not good when our children don´t feel good.

Good luck

Try re-focusing him on the here & now.  Direct him to thinking about what he wants to accomplish with his life.  My 6 year old just had to deal with the death of a grandparent, and she had a lot of questions.  Without lying to her, I explained how people die (getting life ending diseases, etc.)  which worked because she doesn't associate that with young kids.  Also, the book What's Heaven by Maria Shriver is good for helping them understand what happens after, even if you don't believe in heaven.
