Hi, I want to know if there are any other moms that are having a hard time getting 3yr old to sleep in own bed. Any effective strategies out there that arent so brutal, leaving them crying in room????

You could try to lay with him until he falls asleep, I had to do that with my oldest when I transitioned her to a bed around 2 yrs to 3 yrs, she was "spirited" as my DR. would say, which is code for ADD. But try to keep to a bedtime routine. Our son tried to sleep with us all the time, but by the time he was 4 I put my foot down and didn't allow it anymore, my husband likes to have the kids in our bed if they want to. But with our last child, now 7, she never was able to sleep in our bed very often, only when the other parent was away, which wasn't often. Now she wants to sleep with us more frequently, but the rule is only when 1 parent is away, or she can sleep in the family room in the basement if there isn't school or work the next day, which our bedroom is downstairs away from the kids' rooms. Just keep consistent, that seems to work best, when we got wishy-washy, that's when we had problems.
