i have just started my little girl on rice cereal, is 2 times a day ok? and when should i start pureed vegies? thanks

How old is your daughter?

I went from breastfeeding to solids. We started giving her vegetables and stuff pretty much right off the bat before I even stopped breastfeeding, but it was mostly for play and getting her to start liking the taste. When I weened her, we replaced one meal a day with rice cereal for a week, then another meal the next week of more regular foods, and continued a staggered setup like this.

I wouldn't recommend solids before six months, and I'd really wait for their poo to turn from liquid to something more solid to make sure their digestive track is mature enough, but I'd say if she's ready for rice cereal, she's ready for veggies and other things. Just check the list of major food allergens and avoid them.

We started rice cereal at 4 months, stage one at 5 months and stage two purees at 6 months. Our dr said solids once a day until 6 months, twice a day until 9 months, three times a day until 12 months, then four times a day after a year.

i started my daughter out with rice cereal in her bottles. then i went to regular rice cereal with a spoon. two times a day is fine. just make sure that ur baby is not hungry, or overeating. you should not really start veggies and fruits until after 4-5 months of age due to the fact that before that could cause your child to develop a food allergy. also you should mainly focus on veggies over fruits. fruits are sweet to babies and they will soon reject the veggies because they want the sweetness of the fruits. do not add any salt or sugar to the food or you are going to have big problems later. i used to add a tiny bit of salt to my daughters baby food between 6-9 months of age and now she is very picky about how her food is seasoned. even when you start table foods, you should prepare the food with little to no seasoning and only add it to your own food. the more bland you keep the food for longer, the less picky the child will be about seasoning later on. good luck!

Our doctor says you can start rice cereal and baby food between four and six months as long as baby can hold head up unassisted. Introducing a new food every three days but mixing it up. For instance: squash, squash, squash, carrots, squash, carrots, carrots, squash, apples, carrots, apples, squash, apples, sweet potatoes...

I started my son on rice cereal and he started his puree veggies at 5 month only start with a table spoon before not to much and after the veggies start with the fruits and i only started meat at 8month he his now 9 month and he eats his 3 meal a day and in beetween for his snack he as his bottle of formula. I had to do that because he did not want to drink his formula anymore so had to introduce food. If your baby his content on formula or breastmilk they say you should only stay on their milk but if you think she is ready for food your the mom you will know. Hope it help.
