My 20 month old daughter will not sleep at night. she has an hour nap around lunchtime. i put her down around 8-8.30 and most nights it is 11pm before she sleeps, we have tried everything from warm bottle, bath, reading story, lying with her and ignoring her cries, anything new out there to make toddlers sleep.

I agree with Kylie....routine and stick with it. Remain calm and keep going back in without really talking to her. We have always laid it out for our son, "ok, after bath its time to pick a book and get ready for bed" "ok, its time to pick a book and go to sleep" we just keep reinforcing whats next....now he says "can I have 5 more minutes!" LOL - good luck, stick with it.

hi i have a 2and half yr old who doesn't sleep we put her to bed at 7-7.30pm no later than that otherwise she is just overtired. It can take up to an hr or two for her too sleep.

My child health nurse said Routine and stick with it not to give in. Make sure been to potty done teeth and have fav toy. I read a story or sing 1 song then tuck her in say goodnight then sa back to check on you soon only if your quite then leave. She cries and screams if she doesn't need anything i go in don't make eye contact place her back down again without taking her out of bed and leave without talking, keep repeating and eventually she understands that im not listeneing to her and gives up.

Hope some of this helps i also have 9month old who is very attached to me i have to stop rocking him to sleep so he can learn to fall asleep on his own that way when he wakes at night he can fall asleep without me.

Its hard but it's working very slowly
