transitioning from breastfed to bottle

I am preparing to go back to work in a month. My 5 week old won't take the bottle, he hasn't taken the pacifier. We have tried 4 different bottles with no luck. Any ideas on how to help him? I do not want to wean him off as I plan to pump at work.

I was going to suggest letting someone else give him the bottle also.  I know quite a few moms who had the same problem and that worked for them.  My son has always taken the playtex with the drop ins and he was breastfeed.  I started giving him one or 2 bottles of b-milk at 2 weeks beside letting him latch on.

Are you trying to give him the bottle? Try having another person give him the bottle and see how that works. My son wouldn't take the bottle from me at first but now he will however if he gets a scent of the breast he pushes the bottle away and wants to nurse.

Also you can try with the pacifier putting it in his mouth and tickeling his cheeks with the tips of your fingers while holding the pacifier in his mouth. If you haven't already, try a different pacifier. My son wouldn't take the one from the hospital, I now am using the MAM brand (newborn size).
