Traveling with Children

I am getting ready to take a trip that include an 8 hour flight w/a 5y.o. and a 10mo old. I have travelled in the past with my oldest and she is AMAZING. However, I have never travelled with a child as young as 10mo old. Not sure what to expect. I have heard different things but I am just curious if anyone else has some experience that they will share with me.

Thanks ;-D

I'm about to experience the same thing with our 5 month year old in July - 8 hour flight.....I'm worried what she'll sleep in during the long flight. I was hoping to leave her car seat behind and only take her stroller.

I travelled a 4 hr flight w a 7 month old.

I planned on passing to my BF beside me, and my mom behind me for breaks, that didnt happen, but was fine!

I nursed at transition times (take off, landing) for his ears. He slept more than usual, maybe the lulling engine.

Luckily my seat neaighbor both flights liked babes and both were actually helpful, dont be afraid to ask!

I wore him in a sling and took an umbrella stroller to the gate. I brought a bag of snacks and new toys (a diff. toy every fussy stage), by toys I mean a magazine he could tear up, a dvd case he could explore...small things

Eating was tricky, dont order coffee or tea!

Bring an easy fold up change pad w/ wipes and diapers, there are change tables in the washrooms (small, hard, and turbulance sucks).

Good Luck
