What are your thoughts about the V-tech Learning systems? Is it just another game system or can it be beneficial to a 2 year old.

I have teenage boys who play x box so it was only a matter of time before the younger ones wanted to play too. I see benefits to educational games. All kids learn differnetly. some really enjoy viedo games and learn tons of stuff. Just remember hours and hours on the tv is not good.

Thank you all for your posts - I don't think she'll be getting a V-Tech with Spring coming soon I will get her outside. :)

No reason for a toddler to have electronics or TV.  Just read books and let them play with puzzles and blocks and actual toys.  There is no scientific evidence that electronics does any good, and we basically produce couch potato kids...they need interaction with us, and actual learning that comes with reading and touching and experiencing...not observing a monitor or TV screen.

I personally detest all electronic toys. I prefer toys that the kids have to manipulate and can express creativity and imagination through. Really just basic toys like blocks, balls, sticks. books, puzzles.....

Which system exactly?  I think it depends on the child.  My son was too young and not really interested in the vsmile learning system for tv.  Now a year later, it is too easy for him so he moves through it quickly.
