My son did not like straight formula so when my supply started to decrease I mixed formula with breastmilk. First week was 6 oz breastmilk, 2 oz formula. I did that for a month, then 4 breastmilk, 4 oz formula, and I am doing that until I run out of milk that I have in the freezer. I still nurse in the morning and at night.

I agree with Jennifer, you can mix breast milk and formula. If you are concerned ask a Dr. or a lactation consultant, but I work in NICU and you can mix Breast milk and formula we do it all the time. and I think this is a great way if it is the taste she is not used to lactation consultants say breast milk is sweet(wouldn't know :) so mixing them until she is used to the taste sounds great! if she is having a reaction to the milk, spitting up or loose diapers she may need a new formula. Good luck!

Quoting Jennifer:

I started with 1/4FM -3/4BRMK for about a week then half and half for another week and then 3/4FM -1/4 BRMK another week and then the last week just formula. Mine was not a picky eater tho so that helped. It will give her time to adjust to the taste and she can get breast milk all the time! Good luck!

I just didn't understand, do you mean mixing the formula & breast milk in the same bottle?

You can combine fm & brmk but not mix them in the same bottle !

I know what you are going through...as you put it...my supply ran low as well. I don't know how old your daughter is but you could do what my mom did for my sister....a tiny bit of nestles quick in the formula...I guess even as infants we girls love our chocolate. Or you could try switching formulas....Enfamil worked good for me. Or you could try watering down your formula a little more than what the directions call for so that it is thinner like your own breast milk. I noticed with my son that is was more the consistency than the taste.
