What are the easiest steps to getting your child to fall asleep in there own bed?

He sleeps through the night but I can't get my 4 yr old to fall asleep in his own bed. We tried sitting in his room and it worked for a couple of weeks and then he went back to the old way of falling a sleep in my bed. I work at night and this makes it difficult for my husband. And me on the weekends. HELP! I will take any suggestions.

Below is a goody, however I found this approach little easier with a bedtime bear. No access to the bear at all during the day, it is specifically for bedtime only. Your little person has to take responsibility for the bear to make sure it has a good nights sleep in his bed. Get dad one too perhaps so they both have to make sure their bear is in their bed. I know corney but hey it worked for me

Easiest way is to just put him in bed and leave. He will cry and get up...you put him back...again and again and again. Until eventually he falls asleep there. You might have to do this a few nights...but generally after 3 or 4 nights...its all over. That's the easiest way in my opinion. There are alot of ways to do it, I've been told. Most of the "nicer" ones take 7-14 days I think of doing it consistently. Good Luck!
