What do you do when your child tells you "NO" about everything?

I thought this was going to be a question asking What do you do ...like for work! I made sure never to tell my oldest daughter "No!" when she was little. If she got into something she shouldn't I would explain why it wasn't permitted with other words and then physically remove her from the situation. She never screamed "No!" at me. I forgot out of business and notice I do yell "No!" to my younger daughter pretty consistenly. Guess what, she loves telling people "No!".  She might tell you "No!' but if you pick your battles, remain consistent and try to refrain from yelling "No!" all the time you might see it decrease. Also, even if she yellsthat she won't do something that is necessary there is no reason to give in to the "no!" just ignore it.

Hi Kelly,

Unfortunately, its perfectly normal, as No is one of the easiest words to say, and more often then not, these clever little bubbas pick it up of of us parents.  My son is 8 and they do grow out of it a little, but you'll probably find that No will be in their vocabulary til there at least 21 lol!!!  You just have to persist, showing you child that you are, infact, the boss!!!

Good luck

Chelsey xx
