working & parenthood

So I'm wondering how anyone finds balance in their life....I just started going to work more ..almost full-time...I have one girl in grade 3 & one girl who just started kindergarten(only tues/thurs. plus occassional monday)...my girls are in 3-4 activites a week each..my husband works Mon.-Fri. day shifts...weekends off...I usually work weekends...I'm finding it difficult to feel to keep my head on straight when...they're is so much to do..to keep organized....I'm wondering whether it gets easier...with practice or it just gets worse....any advice...

I think it will get easier each year, but it takes a lot of time management and the acceptance that you are not "super mom". You will have to accept the fact you will not get all the house chores done, or the errands may have to wait until the kids are sleeping. I have 3 kids: 7yr old, 4 yr old, and a 11mth old, and both my husband and I work 40hrs+ a week. There are times I feel like the worse Mom alive, but once I realize that I don't have to do everything (the kids will understand), I feel better.

One thing I would recommend is limit the activies for your kids, or you will get run down faster. You have to remember that you choose your life, don't let your kids run it for you. I agree with letting them try new things, but limit the amount of activities in one given week, otherwise you won't even feel run-down, but you'll be eatting out all the time, and you won't connect as a family.

Good Luck! Let me know if you have any suggestions.
