Yeah! A group for working moms!

I was blessed to be a stay at home mom for nearly 3 years, but that ended when I became a single mom of two. I have been working ever since, and it's nice to be able to connect with other working moms who may have similar struggles and achievements to share!

I was a stay at home mom for 10 years before I got divorced. I always wanted to work or go to school but my husband at the time would't let me. Once I was single, it was hard to get myself sorted out. I ended up doing an apprenticeship to become a baker. At times I was working 7 days a week. It was too much. I have just changed jobs now and will only be working 4 nights a week. I am looking forward to getting to know my children again. On the upside I think that I am setting a good example for them. I didn't just rely on government handouts for single moms, I went out there and learned a skill. In the 5 years that I have been away from their father, I have bought myself a car, furnished my house (I left with nothing from the relationship) and bought a block of land in the country. I also have a wonder new partner who has helped a lot wth me working so much. It is not easy working and being a mom, but it is nice to look back and say "Look what I was able to do!"
